BIRTH DOULA CARE
Every pregnancy and birth is unique. And as you continue to create the support to meet your individual needs, consider inviting me for a consult. I usually join you and your partner during your 2nd or 3rd trimester, anywhere between weeks 13 - 36. It's your choice; we can meet sooner. Our initial meeting is complementary, where we decide if we're a good fit. My non-medical labor and birth support includes up to two prenatal visits where you share your birthing preferences, we talk about what normal labor looks like and discuss medical interventions. As your birth companion, I offer, to you and your partner, practical non-medical suggestions which serve to comfort and support you during labor and the birth of your baby. These strategies help you cope with the physical, mental and emotional demands of normal labor and birth. Most importantly, you will benefit from continuous labor and birth support, that I as a doula bring to the table. My role is support not replacement. We will also talk about and review newborn feeding basics - breastfeeding or formula. Additionally, accompanying you on a prenatal visit or attend a tour of the hospital with you can be arranged. You will have my contact information which provides you with unlimited phone, text, and email contact throughout your pregnancy and the early weeks following your postpartum period. My on-call time starts from week 37 of your pregnancy until the birth of your baby. When your body and baby sets a labor rhythm, I join you, at your request, to provide continuous labor support at your home or at the hospital depending on your preferences. I remain with you up to two hours after the birth of your baby to help with breastfeeding initiation and any other postpartum needs. Maybe it's the pictures you asked me to take, or the notes I jotted down or the name of the care provider that attended you, these memories can be shared with you as you recount your birth story during one or maybe two of our postpartum visits. It will also be a good time for questions to be answered, and referrals can be made if needed. The fees for my services as listed above are $1,000.00 |
POSTPARTUM DOULA CARE
During your time of lying in, doing the month, la cuarentena, or the newly dubbed the fourth trimester, (where you will benefit from the 3 R's: Rest, Recovery and Recuperation), as you and your baby bond and get to know each other, there will be things that are important to you for example: self-care - a soothing bath or shower, sleep, a meal, or help with newborn care, feedings, dishes in the sink, time to yourself, to list a few - and having the postnatal care and support from a postpartum doula to handle that for you will be an answer to meeting yours and your family's needs. You nurture for your newborn and I nurture for you - a nice exchange. Doula Rosie a mother who mothers the new mother - You We can meet before the birth to discuss your needs as a future new mother and new parent(s) or transition the doula support - birth to postpartum as well.
